can't stop the spirits when they need you
this life is more than just a read thru

-red hot chili peppers "you can't stop"

dude...has anyone else seen the new chili peppers video, "you can't stop"? you need to. it kicks. the song itself is great, and the video is just fabulous (in my opinion). i should've caught the guy's name, but the stuff in the video was inspired by some artist's work called "on minute statues" (i think...have to check on that). it was quite bizarre. i think it was an improvement on the weak video for "the zephyr song."

anyhoo, i might start staying up a little later. all things rock is on mtv, with all the videos i rarely get to see (such as the used's "buried alive"). of course, i have been quite a bum today. i've been in my pj's for the better part of the evening, watching tv and working on some spanish during commercials. ah, well.

plan for this weekend: heading home tomorrow. kit and brayer are coming along and we're going to see justin eason's band tomorrow night at new brookland tavern. saturday i'll probably do some chilling with the madre. saturday evening, it's back to new brookland to see tigerbot hesh (since i'll be missing them at the switchfoot show). church sunday before heading back here. somewhere in there i should probably get some work done. hm...

our internet was down for about a day and a half. i know you all missed my muy interesante posts. perhaps not, but i sure missed my internet. what a nerd i am.

why does everything have to be going on the last weekend of this month? i already have 3 things i could potentially do, and i'm beginning to second think my choice.

1. tinkers punishment and jump, little children concert at the handlebar in greenville. obviously, this is the current plan. i think kit might come, too.

2. tigerbot hesh opening for switchfoot in columbia. sarabeth and tab are going, i think. as much as i'd love to see switchfoot, i'm going to see tigerbot this weekend, probably. i'll probably scratch this one.

3. language conference in atlanta with carlos. he's going to talk about the camino, and he suggested that a couple of us come with him. the perks here are that accomodations are paid for, and i'd get to skip classes on friday with an academic excuse. carlos says he knows of some good restaurants, too. i might consider this one.

but i know me, and i'll probably stick with number one. call me ms. predictable.

yo, all you cats in lexingtonia. just to let you know, i'm probably heading home this saturday. if yall are up for it, i'll be available to kick it for a bit. i know you'll all be free because you would've gone out for valentine's day the night before...right? right. that's what i thought. i'll probably be in touch once i roll into town. till then.
"walk away"
ben harper

oh no, here comes that sun again
that means another day without you my friend
and it hurts me to look into the mirror at myself
and it hurts even more to have to be with somebody else

and its so hard to do and so easy to say, sometimes, sometimes you just have to walk away
walk away

so many people to love in my life
why do i worry about one
but you put the happy in my ness
you put the good times into my fun

and its so hard to do and so easy to say, sometimes, sometimes you just have to walk away
walk away, and head for the door

we've tried the goodbye for so many days
we walked in the same direction so that we could never be strayed
they say if you love somebody, then you have got to set them free
but i would rather be locked to you that live in this pain and misery

they say time will make all this go away
but its time that has taken my tomorrows and turned them into yesterdays
and once again that rising sun is dropping on down
once again you my friend are nowhere to be found

and its so hard to do, and so easy to say, but sometimes, sometimes you have to walk away
walk away, and head for the door

(just for you, justin)

well, whadaya know...
so...i've completed the first week back, and now it's on to the second. done with the classes for today, and now i'm procrastinating like there's no tomorrow. this weekend was tons of fun. melting pot for desert with the girls friday night. (let me ask you, now, what could be better than cakes and fruits dipped in melted chocolate??) jittery joe's saturday morning. need to breathe concert in greenville saturday night. (i nearly got creamed in the face with the end of a guitar. sweet.) jesse's church yesterday morning. pizza, the simpsons, and malcolm in the middle with steph and justin last night. and now my homework just towers over me...
